So I am in the same category as Andy Murray – good news and bad news. Reminds me of the old joke:
Patient: Doctor, will I be able to play tennis after the hip replacement?
Doctor: Yes, certainly.
Patient: That’s great – I couldn’t before!
Interesting research as to why Murray is so badly affected. Is it the nature of tennis? His all-out approach? Genetic? Bad luck? We always like to find a reason for our sufferings – it used to be sin, but that has gone out of style. Now, it must be diet, mental attitude, your parents, anything but the unpredictable lottery of life – we hate to think chance plays such a big part in our carefully planned existence.
Good luck to Andy – Sir Andy, my apologies – and I hope post-tennis goes well for you.
